CHAMPION Velocity Development Update
Oct 7, 2026

Hello, ComputerChip here!
Just a quick, abrupt update on CHAMPION Velocity - the game will now be developed in the GDevelop game engine.
What Happened?
On October 1st, it was announced that the next big CHAMPION game would be made on a UGC platform based on Godot. This UGC platform was in development, and had switched from using Unity over the past few years. It also had an open source base, meaning the switch to Godot would open it up more. This would help support the CHAMPION Ecosystem vision, where creators could create a game using kits based on the mechanics provided for CHAMPION.
Unfortunately, the servers for this platform were taken down without notice just this weekend.
GDevelop Switch
After careful consideration, I've decided that GDevelop is the best way to move forward with the Velocity. Since I'm using the full engine this time, and not a platform on it, I, and other CHAMPION Creators, get more freedom and support for distribution, sharing and development. As a result, CHAMPION Velocity will also release on several web based platforms, meaning that we will stay within the browser gaming ecosystem, which reduces the friction for our creators using the Jamango! platform to create CHAMPION content.
More details will follow on CHAMPION Velocity, and hopefully development can be brought forward with this decision being made. CHAMPION Nexus remains as is, with release slated for 27th October.
